Farmington Hills, Michigan (February 15, 2011) – The Friedman Companies held a company-wide food drive to help its neighbors in need. The “I’ve Been Canned” food drive, held this January 31st to February 11th, offered Friedman employees an opportunity to donate canned and boxed goods in exchange for company vouchers allowing casual dress attire. With a collection totaling over 1800 items, this year’s drive exceeded 2010 totals by over 700 items and earned Friedman Company employees an additional three weeks of casual attire for the summer of 2011.

Items donated during the two week drive have been delivered to the Lighthouse of Oakland Country, a non-profit provider of services that has since 1972 offered a full range of services designed to move people from crisis and instability to self-sufficiency. Lighthouse has provided assistance to families and individuals in need to over 70,000 individuals this year.
